Christmas Tree Cheese Platter
A quick and easy variety plate perfect for you holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds of block cheese
- 4 cups grapes removed from the stems, washed, and dried
- 1 celery stem
Instructions
- Start by making the parchment paper guide. Get the serving board you’ll be using and cut a piece of parchment paper to fit (the perfect size will be one that takes up roughly 90% of the width and roughly 75% of the height). Fold the paper in half lengthwise to create a guiding line. Turn the paper over and fold a diagonal line from the top end of the center line to the bottom corner. Repeat on the other side to make a triangle. If there is any paper hanging over the edge, trim it with scissors. Place your guide on the serving board.
- Cut the cheese into ¼” thick slices.
- Take one slice and use a small star shaped cookie cutter to cut out the tree topper.
- Cut the cheese slices into 1” squares, then cut those squares diagonally into wedges.
- Start with the cheese star at the top, then make alternating rows of cheese and grapes, using the guide to make a tree shape.
- Add the celery trunk once you’ve finished assembling the rest of the tree.
- Serve with toothpicks and crackers if desired.
Notes
You can use just one variety of cheese to keep the cost down, or you can use three like I did. I used pizza mozzarella, sharp cheddar, and marble. Roughly ½ of the cheese I used was mozzarella, ⅓ was sharp cheddar, and the remaining was marble. My favorite cheese for this ended up being sharp cheddar, so if you have to choose just one, that’s what I’d go with!
